Dear Brentwood Family, Please excuse my typed letter. My handwriting is awful, at my best moments. I struggle to find the words that would properly express my gratitude and thanks for all you did for father and me. I could write pages, and pages in my attempt to express my feelings. It was you who gave my dying father exemplary care with stellar kindness and compassion. You made sure my father was comfortable and treated him with respect. More importantly, you valued him and made him part of your family. Even when he was yelling "hey" from his room, you were so very patient and kind. You touched my heart and comforted my spirit during one of the darkest moments of my life. As I was sitting with Dad during his last hours, your smiles, your compassion, and your bravery were my lifeline. Whether you like it or not, you now occupy a place in my heart - a place of high honor. In true "Fred" spirit, I lift a Pabst to all of you and to Fred's final railroad journey. Love and Peace Always, S.D.
